Rodent Control in Rocklin, CA

Rocklin climbs into the foothills, and the oak woodland and granite outcrops behind its newer neighborhoods are where much of the rodent pressure comes from.

Around Rocklin

Rocklin is named for its granite. In 1864 the Central Pacific extended its track southwest from Newcastle to Secret Ravine, named the place Rocklin after its quarry and used it as a refueling and water stop, and granite from Secret Ravine went into the base course of the California Capitol Building. The railroad built a roundhouse here in 1867, and in 1908 moved its facility to Roseville. Granite mining in Rocklin ended in 2004.

Interstate 80 and State Route 65 meet in Rocklin, historic U.S. Route 40 runs through town, and Capitol Corridor trains stop at the Rocklin Amtrak station. Quarry Park Adventures is on Pacific St and Johnson-Springview Park on 5th St. Whitney Community Park is on Whitney Ranch Pkwy, Kathy Lund Community Park on W Oaks Blvd, and Twin Oaks Park and Boulder Ridge Park are both on Park Dr. Sierra College is on Sierra College Blvd, Jessup University on University Ave, and the Rocklin Public Library on Granite Dr.

What makes Rocklin different

The newer subdivisions up the hill back onto open ground, oak and brush, which supports rodents year-round rather than seasonally. Houses along that edge see more activity than the ones a few streets in. The construction is typical of the region - concrete tile, stucco, slab - so the entry points are at the roofline and the service penetrations rather than through the walls. The older part of town near the original quarries and the rail line has smaller, older houses on raised foundations, and there the crawl space and its vents are the first place to look.
