Rodent Control in Dixon, CA

Dixon is a farm town in Solano County with open agricultural ground on every side, and field mice are most of what we see here.

Around Dixon

Dixon started out a few miles from where it is now, as Silveyville, founded in 1852 by Elijah Silvey as a halfway point for miners bound for the gold fields of Sacramento. When the Central Pacific came through in 1868 and missed it, the town moved to the tracks, and the Dixon Methodist Church on N Jefferson St is one of the first buildings from that 1871 move still standing. It was going to be Dicksville, after Thomas Dickson, who gave ten acres for a depot, but the first rail shipment from San Francisco in 1872 came addressed to “Dixon”, and the name stuck.

Most of the town has grown up between the railroad tracks and Interstate 80, and State Route 113 passes through it too. Amtrak trains run through without stopping; the station the city built near downtown in 2006 has no scheduled stops and now houses the Chamber of Commerce. Hall Memorial Park is on E Chestnut St, Northwest Park on Parkgreen Dr and Veterans Park on Valley Glen Dr. City Hall and Pardi Plaza are on E A St, the Dixon Historical Society on W A St and the Dixon Library on N 1st St, and the Milk Farm Restaurant sign, a historical landmark, is on Milk Farm Rd.

What makes Dixon different

The pattern is agricultural and predictable: the fields are worked or harvested, the cover disappears, and whatever was living in them heads for the nearest structure. Newer subdivisions on the edge of town back straight onto that ground, and the houses there are generally sound at the walls, so the way in is a service penetration, a vent or a garage door that no longer meets the slab. The older houses near downtown are on raised foundations with crawl spaces and original vent screens, and properties outside town come with barns, shops and equipment storage that need looking at alongside the house.

How we work in Dixon

The same five steps everywhere: a free phone estimate, finding exactly how they are getting in, sealing those openings in steel and mortar, trapping and monitoring what is left inside, then cleaning and sanitizing. No poison and no recurring contract. The exclusion work is a one-time repair backed by our guarantee.

Our Carmichael office at 6839 Hillside Dr puts Dixon a short run away. We also work Davis and Woodland, and the wider Carmichael area.
