Rodent Control in Davis, CA

Davis is a university town surrounded by farm ground, and both of those facts show up in the rodent work.

Around Davis

Davis began as Davisville, a Southern Pacific depot in 1868 named for Jerome C. Davis, a farmer who had claimed land there. The post office shortened the name to Davis in 1907, and the city incorporated in 1917. In between, in 1905, Governor George Pardee picked Davis out of 50 other sites for the University of California’s University Farm, which opened to students in 1908 and became the UC Davis campus in 1959.

Interstate 80 and State Route 113 divide the city, along with a north-south railroad and the Union Pacific mainline running east-west, and West Davis takes in Village Homes, a development known for its solar-powered houses. Central Park is at 5th St and B St. Community Park, the Mary L. Stephens Davis Library and the Veterans Memorial Theatre are all on E 14th St, Arroyo Park is on Shasta Dr and Wildhorse Golf Club on Rockwell Dr. On the UC Davis campus, the Mondavi Center is on Mrak Hall Dr and the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art on Old Davis Rd.

What makes Davis different

The farm land around town means field mice and house mice with somewhere warm to go when the fields are worked or harvested, and the houses on the edge of town get them first. The older core near downtown and the UC Davis campus is bungalows and mid-century houses on raised foundations, with crawl spaces, original vent screens and generations of additions. A large share of the housing is rental, and a rental with tenants changing every year is one where early signs go unreported and a small problem has time to become a larger one. Mature street trees and backyard fruit give roof rats a route and a food supply in the established neighborhoods.

How we work in Davis

The same five steps everywhere: a free phone estimate, finding exactly how they are getting in, sealing those openings in steel and mortar, trapping and monitoring what is left inside, then cleaning and sanitizing. No poison and no recurring contract. The exclusion work is a one-time repair backed by our guarantee.

Our Carmichael office at 6839 Hillside Dr puts Davis a short run away. We also work West Sacramento and Woodland and Dixon, and the wider Carmichael area.
