Rodent Control: common questions
Is this different from rat removal?
Rat removal is one part of it: getting what is already inside out. Rodent control is the whole job - finding the entry points, sealing them, removing what is inside and cleaning up after - and it covers mice as well as rats. Most homes need all four parts, and the estimate tells you which.
How do I know if it is rats or mice?
Droppings are the quickest tell. Mouse droppings are small, roughly the size of a grain of rice; rat droppings are noticeably larger. Heavy movement in the ceiling at night leans rat, and activity in cabinets and drawers leans mouse. You do not need to be sure before you call - the inspection answers it.
Why not just put out bait?
Bait kills rodents somewhere you cannot reach, usually inside a wall or under the floor, and the smell follows. It also leaves the way in open, so the next one arrives on the same route. Trapping takes them out of the house, and sealing stops the next one.
How long does the whole job take?
