Areas we serve

Goose Creek Rodent Control

Goose Creek sits just north of Hanahan and North Charleston, a short drive from our North Charleston office. The city was only established in 1961, so much of its housing is subdivision construction from the decades since.

Around Goose Creek

Goose Creek was established as a city in 1961, but the name is far older. The Etiwan moved to the area in the 1670s, and the colonists who settled a few miles north of Charleston near a stream called Goose Creek, a tributary of the Cooper River, became known as the “Goose Creek men.” Several colonial governors came from among them, James Moore and Robert Daniell included. The Otranto Plantation Indigo Vats and St. James Church are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The city covers about 43 square miles of southern Berkeley County, bordered by the Cooper and Back Rivers to the east, Hanahan and North Charleston to the southwest and Ladson to the west. Most of Naval Support Activity Charleston lies inside it, and the Navy Exchange Main is on Red Bank Rd. Central Creek Park and the Berkeley County Library’s Goose Creek branch are both on Old Moncks Corner Rd, Crowfield Golf Club is on Hamlet Cir, and Goose Creek High School and Stratford High School serve the city.

Newer homes, same weak points

Newer construction does not keep rats and mice out on its own. Houses here are a mix of slab and crawl space builds, and on the crawl space side the ductwork usually runs underneath, so what we look for is condensation on the duct runs, insulation dropping out of the floor system, and gaps where pipes and utility lines come through. The east side of the city runs to the Cooper and Back Rivers, which keeps ground moisture high, and wooded lots give rats cover right up to the foundation. On older houses and additions, every seam where new work meets old is worth checking.

What a pest control plan covers, and what it misses

Plenty of homeowners keep a pest control company on a regular schedule, and for ants, roaches and spiders that kind of service does its job. Rats and mice are different pests, and pest control companies rarely treat them differently. On a typical pest control visit they get bait stations along the outside wall, which is pest management rather than a repair: it thins out the rats already around the home while the gap they use stays open.

Our rodent control starts where the pest control visit stops, under the house and in the attic. We trace exactly how the pests are getting in, plumbing included, because a broken or improperly capped drain or vent line lets sewer rats in where no outside bait will reach them. Every entry point is sealed with stainless steel mesh and concrete, and traps and cameras stay in place until the activity has stopped. That is how we protect the home after we leave, which no pest control spray can do.

Keep your regular pest control for the insect pests it was set up for; it is a different job. If rats keep coming back despite a monthly pest control treatment, the problem is usually an opening, not the product, and the pests will keep finding it. South Carolina humidity keeps crawl spaces damp, and damp insulation is where rats and mice like to nest, so where a crawl space needs it we take care of moisture control as well as the pest control work for rats and mice. That way the home stays sealed and dry, not just baited.

Our process, not pest control services on a schedule

The same five steps everywhere: a free phone estimate, finding exactly how they are getting in, sealing those openings in steel and mortar, trapping and monitoring what is left inside, then cleaning and sanitizing. No poison and no recurring contract. The exclusion work is a one-time repair backed by our guarantee.

Our North Charleston office at 4986 Wetland Crossing Rd Unit 2317 puts Goose Creek a short run away. We also work Hanahan and North Charleston, and the wider North Charleston area.

Fantastic service! I noticed some signs of rodents in my attic and was really concerned. These guys came out quickly and were very thorough in their inspection. They set traps, sealed up potential entry points, and gave me advice on how to prevent future issues. Their team was knowledgeable, friendly, and truly cared about resolving my issue. I'm finally rodent-free thanks to their amazing service. Definitely five stars!

Being near the water in Isle of Palms, we've had rats try to move into our crawl space every year. Normally we just throw down traps, but this time it got worse. We could hear them at night and started finding insulation in our air vents. I found Twin Home Experts through a Facebook group and decided to call. Justin came out and was super professional. He did a full walkthrough and told us what he'd recommend. The whole process was smooth and way more thorough than anything we'd had done before. No more scratching, no more droppings. And they cleaned up after themselves too, which I really appreciated.

We, too, live in a Charleston downtown home that is subject to periodic rodent visits. We contacted this business based on its prior reviews and we were not disappointed. Colton K., an owner of this business, was professional, punctual, thorough and a pleasure to work with. They cleared debris from my crawl space, then sealed it, checked for rodent entry paths and implemented traps with video monitoring. So far, so good! This is a fine young man who has a bright future in Charleston. Hire his team!

We only stay at our Kiawah house a few times a year, so when we came back after a few months and saw signs of rats in the kitchen, we were pretty shocked. They'd gotten into a few cabinets and chewed through some of the pantry items. We called out the twins and had them check everything out. Colton and Jim were awesome. They found where the rats had gotten in through the lattice in our deck and sealed everything up tight. They also set traps and came back to make sure everything was clear before we left. It was such a relief to know the house was secure again.

I recently had the pleasure of using Twin Home Experts after discovering them through a Google search, and I must say, they lived up to their great reviews. I was pleasantly surprised when they were able to schedule a visit for the very next day to investigate the noise I was hearing in the gutters of my three-level home. During the thorough examination of my property, the technician Colton discovered some gaps in the gutter guard that could allow something to get in. He was diligent in his inspection, even going up into the attic to ensure that nothing had made its way inside. Thankfully, he confirmed that nothing had entered my home, and his recommendation was to repair the gutter guard. I would happily recommend them to my family and friends!

After moving into my historic house in Charleston, I discovered signs of rodents in the attic. Twin Home Experts were prompt, professional, and so knowledgeable about how to handle older homes. They removed the infestation, replaced the damaged insulation, and left everything spotless. It's rare to find a company that truly takes pride in their work - these guys do.

Living near the beach out in Folly, we get a fair amount of critters, but when rats made their way into our attic, we knew we needed help. It was starting to smell, and we didn't want it to turn into a bigger issue. Twin Home Experts came out fast, and they were great from the start. Kameron was super knowledgeable and showed us pictures and videos of everything he found. The guys that came out closed up where they were getting in and removed the ones that were caught quick before they started to smell. 100% recommend this company to anyone with a rat problem!

I'm a homeowner in Mount Pleasant and had a pretty serious rodent issue last fall. We thought we had sealed up all the entry points ourselves, but the scratching kept coming back, mostly at night in the ceiling above our bedroom. After a few sleepless weeks, we called Twin Home Experts. What I appreciated was that they didn't come in trying to sell us on a million things. They simply did a detailed inspection, explained what was really happening, and got to work. They stopped by today to check in because they were in the area and it's been months since we've had any issues. That just shows how thorough these guys are.

FAQ

Before you book: common questions

Do you charge extra to come out to Goose Creek?

No. Goose Creek is inside our normal Charleston service area, and the phone estimate is free there like anywhere else.

How fast can you get to Goose Creek?

Goose Creek is covered by our Charleston team, and we hold 24/7 availability for emergencies. For a specific appointment window, call and ask, we would rather give you a real time than a slogan.

Is this a recurring contract like pest control?

No. Pest control is usually a monthly or quarterly treatment plan. Our rodent control is a one-time repair: the exclusion work is backed by the money-back guarantee, and the crawl space work is a repair to your home, not a service you keep paying for. You can keep a pest control plan for insects alongside it.
