Margate Rodent Control
Margate is inland, built up from farmland and the edge of the Everglades from the 1950s on, and its rodent problems are about the house more than the water.
Around Margate
Margate sits seven and a half miles in from the ocean, and when it was founded in the 1950s much of it was still farmland or Everglades. Its name is a blend of its founder’s, Jack Marqusee, and the word gateway, since it was meant to be the way into western Broward County. It became a town in 1955 and a city in 1961, and it now has about 58,700 people on roughly nine square miles.
City Hall is on Margate Blvd, and so is Oriole Golf Club. The Margate Library is on Park Dr, Calypso Cove is on Royal Palm Blvd and Firefighters Park is on N Rock Island Rd. Peppertree Plaza is on W Sample Rd, the Lakewood shopping center is on W Atlantic Blvd, and HCA Florida Northwest Hospital is on N State Rd 7.
Inland homes and how rodents reach them
With little water and no seawalls, Norway rats are less of a concern here than they are on the coast. The usual caller has roof rats, which reach the house through yard trees, hedges and utility lines, or mice, which come in low through the garage. Much of the city dates from its growth after the 1950s, so a home may have been through a new roof and several rounds of air conditioning and cable work, each one a chance for an opening that was never closed properly. On a block home the checks are the same ones that matter across Broward County: soffit vents, the tile or shingle edge, the line sets through the wall and the garage door seal. Our Pompano Beach office covers Margate, so ask for that line.
What a pest control route misses in the western suburbs
Out here a lot of homes are on a regular pest control route, with a technician spraying the perimeter for bugs and checking a bait box or two. It works well on ants. Roof rats ignore it, since they come in above the spray line and have plenty to eat in the yard.
The sound in the ceiling usually gets people to call, but the cause is a small repair that was never made: a vent screen that came loose, a gap left by an air conditioning replacement, or a garage door seal that has worn away. Mice use the low gaps and roof rats use the high ones, so a good inspection covers both.
Our rodent control starts by tracing how they get in, with the roofline, the walls, the garage and the plumbing all on the list. A breached drain or vent line is rarer than a torn screen, but it is worth ruling out, because sealing the roof will not fix it. Then we close the openings, run rat control or mice control with traps and cameras, and clean up what they left.
General pest companies also take on termites, wildlife and other jobs that we leave to them. We work on rats and mice only. When we finish, your home stays sealed rather than waiting for the next visit.
Our process, and why it is not pest prevention
The same five steps everywhere: a free phone estimate, finding exactly how they are getting in, sealing those openings in steel and mortar, trapping and monitoring what is left inside, then cleaning and sanitizing. No poison and no recurring contract. The exclusion work is a one-time repair backed by our guarantee.
Margate is covered from our Pompano Beach office on South Dixie Highway. We also work Tamarac and Pompano Beach, and the wider Pompano Beach area.

I recently reached out to Twin Home Experts in Pompano when I discovered a sewer rat had managed to find its way into my plumbing system. I was honestly at my wit’s end, but Josh and Kameron turned what could have been a nightmare into a smooth, stress-free experience. From the start, they were incredibly professional and took the time to explain exactly what was going on and how they’d handle it. They inspected every inch of the plumbing to ensure there were no hidden issues, and they kept me in the loop the whole time, which I really appreciated. Once they tracked down the sewer rat’s point of entry and the damage it had caused, they quickly got to work fixing the problem. They worked efficiently, and when they were done, it was like the issue had never even happened. I was blown away by their attention to detail and how careful they were in making sure everything was completely secure. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation—whether it’s a sewer rat or anything else—Josh and Kameron are the ones to call. They made the whole process easy and gave me peace of mind that my home was in great hands.
We had a serious rodent problem in our attic, and it was starting to affect the rest of our home. Twin Home Experts came out and immediately got to work. They located all the entry points, sealed them up, and safely removed the rodents. What impressed me most was how thorough they were nothing was overlooked. After the rodents were removed, they did a complete attic restoration. They cleaned, disinfected, and replaced all the old insulation with brand new, high quality material. Our attic now looks brand new, smells fresh, and feels like a clean part of our home again. Since the work was completed, we haven’t had a single sign of rodents, and our house is noticeably more comfortable and energy efficient. The entire team was professional, friendly, and really knew what they were doing. I highly recommend Twin Home Experts if you’re dealing with rodents or need an attic restoration done right!
After discovering rodents in our attic, we called Twin Home Experts and were lucky to get Josh and Kam on the job. They did a thorough inspection using cameras and found multiple entry points, which they sealed up completely. Once the rodents were removed, they performed a full attic restoration—removing contaminated insulation, sanitizing the entire space, and installing brand-new insulation. The difference in air quality and peace of mind is incredible. From start to finish, they were professional, detailed, and respectful of our home. Worth every penny
Absolutely amazing service from start to finish! I hired Twin Home Experts after noticing a persistent odor and hearing scratching sounds in my walls. From the moment I called, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive. They used a two-step process—first with high-definition cameras to locate rodent activity, then with smoke testing to pinpoint the exact entry points. It was honestly impressive how thorough and high-tech their approach was. They not only found where the rodents were getting in, but also showed me everything on video so I could see it for myself. After sealing all the access points and cleaning out contaminated insulation, they followed up with a full sanitation process and even offered a warranty for their work. Their transparency, honesty, and attention to detail made a stressful situation so much easier to deal with. Highly recommend Twin Home Experts to anyone looking for rodent removal or home diagnostics done the right way. A+ service!
After trying multiple local pest control companies and even some of the big national names, we were still battling a stubborn rodent issue. Everyone came out, threw down a few traps, sealed what they thought were entry points, and left — only for the rats to come right back. We were honestly losing hope until we found Kam and Josh with Twin Home Experts. From the moment they arrived, it was a completely different experience. They took the time to inspect every inch of the home, including areas no one else had even looked at. They used cameras, smoke testing, and moisture detection to uncover hidden entry points and an AC drain line issue that was causing major water damage and attracting rodents. The level of detail was incredible. Thanks to Kam and Josh, our rodent issue was completely solved — no more scratching, no more droppings, no more sleepless nights. Twin Home Experts did what no one else could. These guys are on a whole different level. Highly recommended!
I kept hearing scratching noises inside my walls, but every time a pest control company came out, they just set traps and left. The problem never stopped. I finally hired Twin Home Experts, and they took a completely different approach. They inspected my plumbing system and discovered that rats were actually using my vertical vent pipes to travel through my home! They had chewed through a small gap in my vent stack and were coming in directly from the sewer system. Twin Home Experts sealed the opening, reinforced all my pipes, and even installed a one-way valve to prevent future intrusions. Since their work, I haven’t had a single rodent issue. This company truly thinks outside the box!
I had been hearing scratching in my walls and attic for weeks, and it was driving me crazy. I called out the team, and from the start, they were incredibly thorough. They did a full inspection inside and out and quickly found evidence of rats nesting behind insulation and sneaking in through gaps in the roofline. They took photos, explained everything, and showed me exactly what needed to be done. Not only did they seal up all the entry points properly, but they also cleaned and sanitized the attic and installed preventive measures to keep rodents from coming back. Their communication and professionalism were unmatched. I finally feel at peace in my own home again. These guys genuinely care about solving the problem, not just covering it up
Twin Home Experts were the only ones who actually fixed our rat problem. Josh and Kam found a hole behind the water heater that every other company missed. Their camera inspection and smoke test confirmed it was the main entry point. They sealed it and followed up two weeks later. Excellent service
FAQ
Common questions from homeowners
How do I book someone for my home?
Start with the Pompano Beach line. We talk through what you are hearing, and if a visit is needed we set a time then.
Is this another monthly pest control contract?
No. Pest control contracts renew. Our work is a one-time repair: find the way in, seal it, trap what is left and clean up.
Can you help with roaches or ants too?
No, only rats and mice. Keep your regular pest control company for those. Our work will not get in its way.
I do not live on the water. Can I still have rats?
Yes. Inland, it is usually the roof rat, which travels through yard trees, hedges and utility lines. It does not need a canal, only a way onto your roof.
