Free Rodent Phone Estimate — Fort Lauderdale, FL
In Broward County the call usually starts with one of three things: running overhead at night, gnawing in a wall, or a dash light after a car has sat. Tell us which, and where, and we tell you what it usually means, what the work would involve and roughly what it costs.
What a South Florida call sounds like
Running in the attic after dark, usually heard first from a bedroom ceiling, is roof rats more often than not, and it points us at the roofline: the soffits, the tile ends, the vents. Gnawing at floor level, burrows along a seawall or droppings in the garage point lower, to a Norway rat or mice.
Where you live narrows it further. A canal-front house is a different call from one inland with a mango tree over the roof, a manufactured home is different again, and all of them are different from a winter home that has been shut since April.
What actually happens
You tell us what you are hearing, seeing or smelling, where in the house, at what time of day, and what has already been tried. We tell you what that usually points to - roof rats in the attic, a Norway rat in the garage, mice along the slab - and what the work would involve. That part is free and it is often enough on its own.
Where the source is not obvious from the call, the next step is the Entry Point Diagnostic. A technician goes through the house the way a rodent does: the soffits, the roof tile and vents, the attic, the garage, and every point where a pipe, wire or line set passes through the wall.
What you get at the end is specific: where they are getting in, how far it has spread into the insulation and ducting, and the scope and pricing for the work. You’ll know the recommended scope of work and pricing before moving forward with the next phase.
Why the call comes first
The call costs nothing and carries no obligation, because we would rather hear the symptoms than quote blind - and because a fair number of these calls end with us telling somebody they have one torn soffit screen and no infestation.
It also saves an afternoon in a South Florida attic in August, which nobody wants for something a five-minute call could have told you.
It also comes first because the order of operations matters. Sealing a house before the rodents inside it are dealt with traps them in, which turns a rodent problem into a dead-animal problem inside your walls.

The roof rat does most of the damage here. It lives in the palms and fruit trees, runs the power lines and fences, and comes in at the roofline. We find the way in before anything else.

A mouse needs a gap about the width of a pencil. We close the openings and remove what is inside, rather than refilling bait every month in a climate where mice never stop breeding.

Closing the house at the roofline and the slab, in material a rodent cannot chew and the salt air does not rot. A sealed gap does not need renewing, which is what lets the guarantee stand behind it.

FAQ
Free Rodent Phone Estimate: common questions
Is the phone estimate really free?
Yes. The call costs nothing and carries no obligation. It is a phone estimate rather than a site visit - where the source of the problem is not obvious over the phone, the next step is the Entry Point Diagnostic, and we will tell you what that costs before anything is booked.
Do I need to be home?
Not for the phone estimate. For the Entry Point Diagnostic, yes, at least for the walkthrough at the end - the findings are much more useful when we can point at the actual gap.
What if there is nothing to find?
Then we tell you that. A call that ends in "that sounds like one torn soffit screen, not an infestation" costs you nothing and is a better result than the alternative.
Can you tell a roof rat from a Norway rat over the phone?
Usually. Where the sound or the mess is, what the droppings look like and whether the house is on the water tell most of it. If it is still unclear, that is what the Entry Point Diagnostic is for.
