Hollywood Rodent Control

Hollywood was planned in the 1920s and had more than 12,000 single-family homes by 1960, so a lot of the rodent work here is on houses with decades of repairs behind them.

Around Hollywood

Hollywood is the third-largest city in Broward County, with about 153,000 people. It grew up as a planned community during the Florida real-estate boom of the 1920s, with Joseph Young as its first mayor, and it was badly damaged by the 1926 Miami hurricane. To the east, the city holds five to six miles of Atlantic beach, broken briefly by a stretch deeded to Dania Beach.

The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is at S Broadwalk, the Anne Kolb Nature Center is on Sheridan St and ArtsPark at Young Circle is on N Young Cir. T.Y. Park is on N Park Rd, Orangebrook Golf & Country Club is on Entrada Dr and The Club at Emerald Hills is on N Hills Dr. Memorial Regional Hospital is on Johnson St, Oakwood Plaza is on Oakwood Blvd, and the Hollywood train station is on Hollywood Blvd.

Older homes, canals and the beach side

Age is what shapes the job. A home that has been through many hurricane seasons, a re-roof or two and several air conditioning replacements has more places where something was cut, moved or put back loosely, and a roof rat will test every one of them at the eaves and the vents. The mature trees in the older neighborhoods give it the way up. East of the Intracoastal and along the canals the picture changes, because the water brings a chance of Norway rats at ground level and salt air wears on anything that is not meant for it. Hollywood has long drawn winter residents as well, and a home or unit closed for the summer can have a problem for months before anyone is there to hear it.

Why a pest control plan can leave rats in an older home

Many older homes here already have a pest control company on the calendar, and for roaches and ants that makes sense. For rats, that kind of plan usually means a few bait boxes outside. Rodent control is a different job, because a box by the fence has no effect on a gap at the eaves.

An older home tends to have more of those gaps. Decades of roof work, new air conditioning lines and cable runs leave openings that nobody went back to close, and a roof rat needs only one. On the east side, a seawall or canal behind the property adds the chance of a Norway rat at ground level, which is a separate route to find.

Our rat control and mice control work starts with every entry point: the roofline, the walls, the garage and the plumbing, since a damaged drain or vent line can bring rats in where bait never reaches them. Sealing comes first. Trapping and camera monitoring follow, and we clean and sanitize once activity has stopped.

General pest control companies often cover ants, roaches, termites, bed bugs or wildlife. We do none of that. Rodent control is all we do, and our exclusion work carries a lifetime warranty, so you can keep your bug service and let us close the home to rodents.

A repair with an end point, not pest prevention

The same five steps everywhere: a free phone estimate, finding exactly how they are getting in, sealing those openings in steel and mortar, trapping and monitoring what is left inside, then cleaning and sanitizing. No poison and no recurring contract. The exclusion work is a one-time repair backed by our guarantee.

Our South Park Road office in Pembroke Park serves Hollywood. We also work Hallandale Beach and Pembroke Park, and the wider Pembroke Park area.

We live in a older Florida home with roof tiles and rodents were sneaking through tiny gaps. Jim and the team did a full roof perimeter seal out with with stainless steel mesh.it wasn't cheap but its built to last and looks clean. We haven't heard or seen a single rodent since.

I had been dealing with rats scratching through the walls for months. I hired multiple companies, and no one could figure out where they were coming from just temporary fixes that never lasted. Then I found Twin Home Experts. Jim and his team came out and took their time doing a full inspection, using smoke testing and cameras to actually find the entry points. They explained everything clearly and sealed up areas no one else even checked. It’s been weeks now, and for the first time, it’s completely quiet. Yes, they’re more expensive than others, but they actually solved the issue and that’s worth every penny. Highly recommend them if you’re serious about getting rid of rodents for good.

After battling a rodent issue for 6 years, I finally called Jim and his team and I wish I had done it sooner. They were thorough, professional, and found entry points no one else had caught. Yes, the service was a bit pricey, but it’s absolutely worth the investment. For the first time in years, my home is silent at night no scratching, no droppings, no surprises. If you’re tired of temporary fixes, call these guys. They solve it for real.

Twin Home Experts is hands down the best company I’ve ever worked with. Jim, Dave, and their team are incredibly thorough, inspecting every detail inside and out. I had been dealing with a rodent issue for years, spending over $8K with four different companies, and was at the point of considering selling my home out of frustration. Then, I came across their YouTube videos and was immediately impressed. I reached out, and their team quickly identified the root cause—a broken pipe within the plumbing system. They didn’t just treat the symptoms; they solved the problem once and for all. Their expertise, efficiency, and professionalism are unmatched. If you’re looking for real results, look no further—this company is the best!

I tried three pest control companies before calling Twin Home Experts. The rats kept returning, and the noise in the walls was driving us crazy. Josh and Kam came out, ran a camera through the plumbing, and found a broken line behind the kitchen. They smoke tested the entire system and finally got to the root of the issue. No more guessing just real solutions. Worth every dollar.

I kept hearing strange noises coming from my air vents, but I thought it was just duct expansion. One night, I actually saw a rat run across my living room! I called Twin Home Experts, and they found that rats were nesting inside my HVAC return duct and using it as a highway through my house. They sealed off the entry point, sanitized my entire system, and installed rodent-proof vent covers. My air is clean, and I haven’t seen a single rodent since!

I kept hearing scratching in my attic, but I never saw any rats. Pest control companies told me it was ‘probably just mice’ and laid out bait stations. Twin Home Experts inspected my home and found that rats were actually entering through a gap in my roof’s vent and traveling down through my wall cavities. They sealed the entry point, reinforced my insulation, and installed a rodent-proof barrier. No more attic noises!

Twin Home Experts did an amazing job sealing up our home and getting rid of a serious rodent issue in the attic. They used cameras to locate all entry points and did a thorough cleanup. We haven’t heard a single scratch since!

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us

How soon can someone get to my home?

Hollywood is handled from our Pembroke Park line. Call and ask for the next opening. We would rather give you a real time than a slogan.

Is this a monthly plan like my pest control company?

No. There is no monthly or quarterly visit to keep paying for. We seal the home, remove what is inside and clean up, and the job has an end.

Should I cancel my bug service?

There is no need. Keep it for ants and roaches. It can carry on alongside our work, since we only deal with rats and mice.

My home is close to the Intracoastal. Does that change anything?

It can. We look harder at the low side of the building and at any seawall or dock, and we choose materials that hold up in salt air.
