Vehicle Rodent Removal & Protection in Phoenix, AZ
Rodents under your hood? We don’t just remove them — we help keep them from coming back. In the Phoenix area that is very often a pack rat, and very often a car that has been sitting.
Pack rats and parked cars
A pack rat builds where nothing disturbs it, and in this valley the most undisturbed space on a lot is often an engine bay: a second car, a classic under a cover, a truck that only comes out at weekends, or a car left in the garage while its owner spends the summer somewhere cooler. It drags in sticks, cactus pieces and debris, and it chews whatever wiring is in reach.
Homes on the desert edge see it most - Ahwatukee, the north side by the preserves, north Scottsdale - but a pack rat or a roof rat can turn up under the hood anywhere in the valley.
What rodents do to a vehicle
Rats and mice can nest inside engine compartments, damage wiring, contaminate insulation and leave behind urine, droppings and odors.
Twin Home Rodent Control offers a specialized 4-step vehicle rodent defense process designed to remove evidence of rodent activity, clean and deodorize contaminated areas, protect vulnerable components and help deter future activity.
Our 4-step vehicle rodent defense process
1. Clean & Deodorize. We remove accessible nesting material and rodent debris, then treat affected areas with TwinZyme, our professional-strength enzyme treatment designed to break down rodent-related organic waste and odors.
2. Protect the Wiring. We apply our specialized rodent-deterrent spray to appropriate vulnerable wiring and components to help discourage chewing.
3. Create a Rodent-Deterrent Barrier. We strategically apply our professional rodent-deterrent gel in appropriate areas under the hood and around the vehicle, to provide another layer of defense.
4. Add Electronic Deterrence. Where appropriate, we install an under-hood ultrasonic rodent-deterrent device as another layer of protection.
Why rodents target vehicles here
A vehicle can provide rodents with a protected place to nest, especially when it sits overnight or for extended periods. Once inside, rodents may damage wiring, insulation, hoses and other components, while nesting material and waste can create odors and contamination.
Simply removing a nest doesn’t address the possibility of the rodent returning. Our approach combines cleanup, protection and multiple deterrent layers.
Signs you may have rodents in your vehicle
Chewed or damaged wiring, nesting material under the hood, droppings in the engine compartment, unusual odors, warning lights or electrical problems, and recurring evidence of rats or mice around the vehicle can all indicate rodent activity.
Already had your wiring repaired?
Don’t wait for them to chew it again.
If a mechanic or dealership has already repaired rodent-damaged wiring, we can provide a vehicle rodent-defense treatment designed to help protect the vehicle from another attack.
Vehicle rodent problems require a different approach
Your home and your vehicle aren’t the same environment. That’s why we developed a specialized vehicle rodent-defense process rather than treating a vehicle like another structure.

FAQ
Vehicle Rodent Removal: common questions
Is this the same as rodent control for my house?
No. This is work on the vehicle: cleaning and deodorizing the engine compartment, treating vulnerable wiring, and adding deterrents. If rodents are getting into the house as well, that is the rodent control work, and the two are quoted separately.
What is TwinZyme?
Our professional-strength enzyme treatment, designed to break down rodent-related organic waste and odors. It is what we use on the affected areas once the accessible nesting material and debris are out.
Does every vehicle get the ultrasonic device?
Where appropriate. It is the fourth step and it is an added layer rather than the whole job - the cleaning, the wiring treatment and the deterrent barrier come first.
Where does the vehicle need to be?
Tell us where it is parked and what you are seeing when you call. The free phone estimate covers what the work involves and what it costs before anything is booked.
I am away every summer. Can the car be protected before I go?
Yes, and that is the better time to do it. A car treated before it is parked for the season is far less inviting than one left as it was, and if the garage itself is open to rodents we will tell you that too.
