Rodent service

Free Rodent Phone Estimate — Phoenix, AZ

In Phoenix the call usually starts with one of three things: running overhead at night, scratching in the garage wall, or a dash light after a car has sat. Tell us which, and where, and we tell you what it usually means, what the work would involve and roughly what it costs.

What a Phoenix call sounds like

Running in the attic after dark, usually heard first from a bedroom ceiling, is roof rats more often than not, and it points us at the roofline: the tile ends, the vents, the patio cover. A nest of sticks and debris in the garage or a chewed harness under the hood points to a pack rat. Droppings along the slab in the garage or under the kitchen sink is usually mice.

Where you live narrows it further. An older house with citrus and palms in central Phoenix is a different call from a newer one backing onto the preserve, and both are different from a winter home that has been shut since April.

What actually happens

You tell us what you are hearing, seeing or smelling, where in the house, at what time of day, and what has already been tried. We tell you what that usually points to - roof rats in the attic, a pack rat in the garage, mice along the slab - and what the work would involve. That part is free and it is often enough on its own.

Where the source is not obvious from the call, the next step is the Entry Point Diagnostic. A technician goes through the house the way a rodent does: the roof tile edges and vents, the attic, the garage, and every point where a pipe, wire or line set passes through the stucco.

What you get at the end is specific: where they are getting in, how far it has spread into the insulation and ducting, and the scope and pricing for the work. You’ll know the recommended scope of work and pricing before moving forward with the next phase.

Why the call comes first

The call costs nothing and carries no obligation, because we would rather hear the symptoms than quote blind - and because a fair number of these calls end with us telling somebody they have one torn vent screen and no infestation.

It also saves a summer afternoon. Nobody wants a technician in a Phoenix attic in July to confirm something a five-minute call could have told you, so the call sorts out first whether there is anything up there worth the trip.

It also comes first because the order of operations matters. Sealing a house before the rodents inside it are dealt with traps them in, which turns a rodent problem into a dead-animal problem inside your walls.

FAQ

Free Rodent Phone Estimate: common questions

Is the phone estimate really free?

Yes. The call costs nothing and carries no obligation. It is a phone estimate rather than a site visit - where the source of the problem is not obvious over the phone, the next step is the Entry Point Diagnostic, and we will tell you what that costs before anything is booked.

Do I need to be home?

Not for the phone estimate. For the Entry Point Diagnostic, yes, at least for the walkthrough at the end - the findings are much more useful when we can point at the actual gap.

What if there is nothing to find?

Then we tell you that. A call that ends in "that sounds like one torn vent screen, not an infestation" costs you nothing and is a better result than the alternative.

Can you tell roof rats from pack rats over the phone?

Usually. Where the sound or the mess is, what the droppings look like and whether there is a stick nest tell most of it, and where the house is in the valley tells the rest. If it is still unclear, that is what the Entry Point Diagnostic is for.
